UPDATE 17 August 2021: Continued pause.
As I continue chemotherapy treatment this summer, I will continue to keep this project on hiatus. Hopefully later in the fall/winter the situation will be such that I have the administrative bandwidth to reopen the platform. Thank you again for your continued patience and understanding. I hope that everyone is able to find other ways to be craftivists and engaged in everyday action to support a more just and sustainable future. ~Anna
UPDATE 1 May 2021: Continued pause.
Due to continued medical treatment, I have made the decision to keep Persistent Stitches on hiatus longer than I had originally hoped. My goal is to have the project back up and running sometime in June. The message will be pushed out on social media when the site goes live again! Thank you all for your patience and understanding. ~Anna
UPDATE 7 March 2021: On Hiatus.
Thank you for your interest in the Persistent Stitches project! Persistent Stitches is currently on hiatus until 1 May 2021 because I (the founder and coordinator) am on unanticipated medical leave. We hope to resume actively offering items later this spring. If you have questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we have someone monitoring the account on a weekly basis who will follow up.
Possible Shipping Delays
Please be aware that due to covid-19 public health and safety recommendations, most of our crafters are limiting their non-essential outings and thus shipments of claimed craft items will likely be delayed. We thank you for your patience. If you have questions about the status of a shipment, please don’t hesitate to contact us at email@example.com.
New to Persistent Stitches? Here’s how it works.
Persistent Stitches is an all-volunteer collective raising money for resistance, social justice, and anti-oppression work through crafting. Every item on Persistent Stitches is handmade by our crafters and many items are one-of-a-kind. We post items along with the name of an organization/cause that item supports and a minimum donation amount. Donations should be made directly to the organization at or above the minimum dollar amount. Donors then email Persistent Stitches (firstname.lastname@example.org) with:
- Proof of donation (usually an e-receipt or screenshot of confirmation page).
- A mailing address.*
- Any specific information required by the listing (e.g. your color or pattern preference).
Crafters then mail out the claimed item(s) to the donor within one week!
*Postage is free within the United States. If you are interested in participating from a non-U.S. location, please contact us to discuss shipping costs before making your donation!
